Modernizing Factories

Date:
August 2016
Client:
Scout Systems

Scout Systems aims to modernize the manufacturing industry by transforming traditional text-based, paper work instructions into image-based digital instructions. This approach speeds up onboarding, assists bilingual workers, and prevents costly mistakes.

As Scout’s first and only designer, I designed Compass and HQ Designer, a suite of front- and back-end software products that run multimillion-dollar factories.

Compass is a GUI editor that allows back-office staff to create product assembly instructions. HQ Designer allows management to oversee and distribute assignments across the factory floor, and view overarching performance trends.

These designs are still in use today, 8 years later.
